Dear Colleagues,
There’s no getting around talking about Donald Trump, especially when you gather a group of Americans and friends of America. His re-election was a shock to many voters, political pundits, the media, and pretty much anyone with an interest in the US. Based on what we’ve heard from him so far, the impact of Trump 2.0 will surely be felt this side of the Atlantic. From diplomacy and security policy to climate, trade and technology, there’s hardly a field that won’t in some way be affected by Trump’s decisions.
That’s why for our first event in 2025 – coming just two weeks after the inauguration – we decided to address what Trump’s presidency means for Germany.
Andrew Denison, the director of Transatlantic Networks, a center for policy research, education and consulting in Königswinter, will kick off our discussion by presenting a few of the issues which are likely to be at the forefront of the new Trump administration. What policy changes and shifts in geo-political focus can we expect and how will Germany deal with the developments?
The Art of the Deal: How Germany Can Work with Trump’s America.
